What We Say

I ❤️ Living on the Bruce Peninsula

I have been coming up to Tobermory since I first was certified as a scuba diver in the summer of 1980.  The excitement of the dive out weighed the chill in the water.  As time passed, my husband and I spent many more seasons exploring The Bruce.  We have hiked the entire Bruce Trail, explored caves, canoed hidden lakes and experienced many tourist events from Kincardine to Tobermory.

I was reminded the other day that the Bruce Peninsula is not only Lion’s Head to Tobermory.  We have North Bruce, South Bruce and then the ever so large Grey Bruce.  Grey Bruce is the largest area covering as far as Kincardine over to almost Collingwood.  It borders as far south as Mount Forest and Dundalk.

What a beautiful area to explore with never a dull moment.  I fully enjoy living here.  When living in the city it was almost a chore shopping.  It meant many traffic lights, road congestion and over crowded stores.  It would normally be a 10-minute drive to the shopping centres but, many times it could end up being almost an hour with the heavy traffic.  I don’t miss that at all.

I love the days heading for Owen Sound or Port Elgin for supplies. It is an event now, rather than a chore.  As for fun events, tours, nature walks, beaches and craft shopping?  We have everything anyone could ever need or want.  Most importantly, dark sky’s, beautiful scenery, and sunsets to die for.

I am all in for living here.
